On Arrival, Dress Code, Handicaps, etc. On arrival please make your way to the pro shop, which is signposted, there you will be booked in and given all the relevant information, including the location of the visitors changing room. Pace of Play There are many reasons visitors return to Stratford regularly. One is the easy walking, but challenging, course enjoyed by all handicaps. The other is that members and visitors respect the need for playing the game at a respectable pace. As a general rule you should expect to complete 18 holes in no more than 3½ to 4 hours.
Course Etiquette/Rules We earnestly request the replacement of all divots, raking of bunkers and repair of pitch marks on greens. We have a mobile phone kiosk in the foyer for your use but please do not use mobile phones on the course, except in emergencies. Please be aware that we have a rule at Stratford that trollies are not allowed to be taken between the bunkers and the greens.
Dress Code A common-sense interpretation of our smart casual dress code is requested, both on the course and in the clubhouse. Whilst tailored shorts are acceptable they must be worn either with knee length socks or short white socks. Trousers of any sort with patch pockets as in combat trousers are not permitted. The wearing of jeans, trainers, collarless shirts other than the style sold in golf professional shops, sports vest and other inappropriate casual wear is not permitted.
Golf shoes are required on the course however they may not be worn in the clubhouse, except in the Spike bar and locker room area. Hats or caps are not allowed in the clubhouse
We have recently relaxed our dress code for the dining room, and although we encourage members to wear jacket and tie, especially for Sunday Lunch, it is not obligatory. Members guests are allowed in the dining room without a jacket and tie but must wear shirt, trousers and street shoes not Tee- shirts, jeans, trainers or inappropriate casual wear. Jumpers and golf jackets are not acceptable. The onus will be on the member to make their guests aware of the dress expectation.
We hope that visiting societies will continue to follow the tradition and wear jacket and tie for their dinner and presentation. Before and after your game
